Teach for Belgium’s vision is, “One day, all children will have the same chances of success, regardless of their socio-economic background”.

To achieve this, the mission of Teach for Belgium is to:

Mobilise, recruit, select, train and support committed people who want to work as teachers in those Belgian schools with the most socio-economically vulnerable children.
In collaboration with its network of alumni and education partners, collect and spread (thinking) frameworks, good practices and concrete tools focused on strong learning outcomes, positive relationships in education, and resilience of both pupils and school teams.
With a team of about 20 colleagues, we work to realise this mission and support more than 300 participants and alumni reaching more than 15 000 children every school year.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing the recruitment strategy of Teach for Belgium to recruit future participants to our programme (around 50/year). You will do this by leading a team of 3 people.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing region-specific plans to meet ambitious targets (on- and off-university campus);
    Building, maintaining and leveraging relationships with different stakeholders to increase awareness and application numbers;
    Building Teach for Belgium’s brand awareness of the programme – appeal to join across our segmented audiences and nationally amongst undergraduates;
    Analysing data to identify trends and opportunities by tracking all activity in Salesforce (constituent management platform), regularly reviewing progress towards goals, and course correcting where necessary;
  • Building upon knowledge and experience to plan for the recruitment of future cohorts;
    Assuring good communication with the Selection team, the other Circle Leads and the director of Teach for Belgium.

  • You are aligned with Teach for Belgium’s vision and mission;
    You have a strong interest in education, recruitment and marketing (employer branding);
    You have a master’s degree (or equivalent through experience) with at least 3 years of experience in education, recruitment or the non-profit sector;
    You have delivered or exceeded expectations with a challenging target;
    You have the ability to influence, inspire and motivate people to quickly develop relationships with potential recruits and individuals in organisations (in order to sell the programme and reach the defined targets);
    You have demonstrated experience in planning, organising and managing various projects to meet goals and objectives – consistently using data to track progress against targets and course-correct where needed;
    You have excellent communication skills in French or Dutch, and are fluent in English;
    You are proactive, self-organised, solution-oriented and accountable, managing your team in an agile way;
    You enjoy working in a fast-paced working environment and are able to process a lot of information;
    You are a real team player and are able to coordinate different people working on the same topic;
    You are willing to occasionally work during evenings and weekends.

We are pleased to offer you:

  • An exciting job with varied responsibilities in a dynamic, international working environment;
  • A close collaboration with all departments of Teach for Belgium, the Teach for Belgium community and our international network Teach for All;
  • Various opportunities for professional and personal development to become proficient at all aspects of your job;
  • A competitive salary for the non-profit sector with extra-legal benefits such as hospitalisation insurance, lunch allowance, reimbursement of transportation expenses etc;
  • Flexible working hours and homeworking (2 to 3 days a week).
